  • 2 Required Core Courses

    • HWST 458/ NREM458/ SUST 456: Resource Issues & Ethics in Hawaiʻi

    • HWST 650: Hawaiian Geography & Resource Management

  • 2 Electives

    • Students are required to take a minimum of 2 electives to meet individual professional development or specialization goals.

    • See list of recommended elective courses in the certificate brochure. Substitutions are accepted with pre-approval by graduate advisor

  • 1 Field Course

    • Students are required to complete a field-based course focused on a community mālama ‘āina project.

  • 1 Capstone

    • A culminating end of program project and hōʻike
