The Hawaiian and Indigenous Future Imaginaries (HIFI) Lab is a small organization dedicated to helping the Hawaiian community to develop future imaginaries for itself. This work is necessary for bringing abundant futures of our choosing into being rather than be subject to the futures others imagine for us. For us, one of the most important tools we have in this work is our imagination, and we cultivate it by bringing Kānaka Hawai‘i into and/or strengthening pilina with other Indigenous artists from the Pacific and Native North America so we can all imagine infinite possibilities for our futures.
